This is possibly one of the coolest gallery spots I've seen. Not just because I have an affinity for horror films but also because the entire asthetic of the VHS box art of yore is so creative and well done. Combine that with the stark white walls and crimson blood splashes, its very striking. Installation presented as collaboration project ( Maurycy Gomulicki / Krystian Kujda ) as a part of a show concerning 80's/90's art and culture. curated by Adam Mazur. Exhibition runs through: November 29, 2009. Warsaw, Poland
I can't say enough great things about this film. It truly embodies the Halloween spirit more than any other film you have seen in the last few years.
2.The House Of The Devil
Intentionally made to look like a throwback film from the 70's/80's golden era of horror, The House Of The Devil is very fun and at times very scary.
3.Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity is a very simple movie that is only effective if you believe in the possibilities of hauntings. That being said, if you are someone who can believe or can suspend your disbelief you will be able to enjoy one of the scariest films to have come out in a long time. It's basically The Blair Witch Project meets The Exorcist.
4.Drag Me To Hell
Drag Me To Hell marks the return of horror heavyweight Sam Raimi and it's a welcome one. It's got scares, laughs, gross-outs and about everything that you could want from a Raimi horror film. Truly a lot of fun!
5.Zombieland
Though I'd consider this more of a comedy, Zombieland has its roots deep enough in the genre to consider it a horror comedy. It's basically a buddy/road movie set in a post-apocalyptic backdrop where everyone has become a zombie except for a few people here and there. Think of it as a pseudo American Shawn Of The Dead. Tons of laughs and splatter.
